About: As a first-class graduate of Microbiology, I currently work as a Research Associate and an International Collaborative partner in a project funded by Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria Biopharmaceutical Accelerator(CARB-X, Boston University, USA) in partnership with the Global AMR Innovation Fund(GAMRIF, UK) and researchers from the Institute for Molecular Bioscience IMB, University of Queensland, Australia. This project entails genomic surveillance of Multi-Drug Resistant Bacteria from both Human and Animal populations in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria. And addtionally, help facilitate the training and setting up of a Whole-Genome Sequence(Oxford Nanopore Technology) facility in order to develop the capacity to identify resistant genes in bacteria isolated. Before now, I have worked as a research trainee/data manager at the Microbiology laboratory of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. In collaboration with clinicians and laboratory scientists, I facilitated several antibiotic susceptibility testing and storage of various resistant strains of bacteria isolates at the special pathogen lab. As part of my role, I utilized the WHONET software application in managing data relating to the epidemiology of antibiotic resistance within the Federal healthcare facility which provides healthcare and related services in the state for a population of more than 20 million I'm passionate about research relating to antibiotic resistance and infectious diseases.
